Qingdao Qianwan Free Trade Port Zone
Qingdao Qianwan Free Trade Port Zone is located in the core area of Qingdao, next to Qingdao port and faces towards the sea, which enjoys the most beneficial policies and has the strongest economic vitality in China. It is also among the first batch of special economic areas with free trade features of “duty bonded, duty-free, and license exemption” and “within the boundary and outside the customs”. Many opening modes, including bonded zone, export processing zone, bonded logistic park, and comprehensive bonded zone, have clustered here, with the comprehensive advantages of both investment liberalization and trade facilitation.
On November 19, 1992, Qingdao Bonded Zone was established with the planning area of 4.8 square kilometers.
In 2004, Qingdao became the second pilot unit of integration of the bonded zone and port and set up Qingdao bonded Logistics Park.
On September 7, 2008, by integrating adjacent port area and bonded logistics park, it was transformed and upgraded to be Qingdao Qianwan Free Trade Port Zone with the planning area of 9.72 square kilometers and 21 quay berths.
In early 2013, Qingdao municipal party commitee and municipal government readjusted the development and construction planning of the free trade port zone and its total planning area reached 65.73 square kilometers. The interactive development pattern was formed among bonded zone, free trade port zone, export processing zone, automobile logistics port and bonded function expansion zone.

– Qingdao is located between two major metropolitan regions, that is, Beijing-Tiajin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta, with the total area of 11,282 square kilometers, the resident population of 8.7151[9.0462] million and the annual gross national product of 800.66[86921] billion Yuan in 2013[2014]. It is one of the first coastal opening cities and one of the cities specifically designated in the state plan.

– Qingdao International Airport has opened 25 international passenger routes with 13 countries and regions, it is one of the similar cities that open the most international routes in China, andit takes only 40 minutes from the airport to Qingdao QIanwan Free Trade Port Zone.
– Qingdao cross-sea brige, Jiaozhou Bay subsea tunnel and subway connect the east and west coasts of Qingdao and it takes only 20 minutes from downtown to Qingdao Free Trade Port Zone.
– The Port of Qingdao is an important international trade hub of the western Pacific Ocean with the cargo throughput of 465 million tons and the container throughput of 16.48 million standard containers in 2014. It is the seventh largetst port in the world and the third largest foreign trade port in China
