Qingdao Wildlife Park Zoo (青岛野生动物园)

Little Pearl Mountain Wildlife Park Zoo officially called (Qingdao Forrest Wildlife World) is a national 4 A level tourism scenic area. It’s located on the west side of Qingdao’s Kaifaqu (Economic and Technological Development Zone). In December of 2000, the Chinese State Forestry Administration set up here. In 2004, the Chinese Tourism Bureau readjusted its overall plan for Little Pearl Mountain Wildlife Park Zoo adjusting the area to 4079.64 hectares.

Qingdao Forest Wildlife World zoo is a large comprehensive theme park integrating wildlife display and protection, popularization of science, catering, leisure and entertainment into a whole. The animals develop live in an ecological environment with green mountains, clear water, fresh air environment. A sightseeing bridges zigzags in the valley, passes through jungles and wanders over the beast area.

Daniel comments: The zoo is quite nice for China, located on the side of a mountain with a fair amount of space for the animals. It is quite a large park and lots of activities/events you can watch so plan for a full day there. Some of the events when available are;
– Boxing bear show
– Parrot show
– “Big Beast” performance with lions and tigers.
– We have experienced a cage of baby cubs you can hold and pet.
– Hold a big snake and let it wrap around you.

Hours of Operation & Directions:

Off-season price (November 1 — the following year on March 31): 70RMB;

High season price (April 1 – October 31st): 100RMB;

Discount ticket: 50RMB.

Opening time is 9:00am – 5:00pm. Ticket fare is RMB45.

My family buys a annual pass for a few hundred RMB allowing us to visit several times per/year. I have a young daughter so always nice to get her out to see and sometimes touch big snakes, tiger cubs and the many wild animals in the big park. (All the details on their website below.)
